NETTLETON, Peter L., beloved husband of Patricia (nee Walker); dear father of Emily (Steven) Panoushek of Cincinnati, OH and Ellen (Andrew) Loufman of Charleston, SC; cherished brother of Blythe Pietila, Beth King, and the late Paula Lampe; stepfather to Jason (Tami) Dugas, Heather (Mark) Mann, and Jarrod (Kelly) Dugas, and adored papaw to grandchildren Courtney, Brendan, Karley, Samuel, Abbie, Braden, Tanner, and Emma. Peter passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 24, 2019. He was born on June 30, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia to Paul and Hope Nettleton. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1981 with a Master of Arts degree in medieval literature. The majority of his career was spent teaching post-secondary English composition, and eventually led to his position as Director of Compliance at Beckfield College, from which he retired in 2012. He was well known among colleagues, family, and friends for his wit, intellect, and love of nature. Always generous with his time and talents, he will be remembered by countless people as a friend, mentor and educator. He also blessed the lives of numerous pets, both terrestrial and aquatic.
