NAPOLI, Phillip Daniel passed away November 12, 2018 at the age of 84. Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Theresa Napoli. Beloved husband of 55 years to Ruthalee O. Napoli (nee Ours). Loving father of P. Christopher (Maria Fernanda) Napoli and Cynthia (Daniel) Guveiyian. Grandfather of Cassandra, Donovan and Enzo Napoli, Elise and Daniel Guveiyian. Brother of the late Francesca (Gregory) Moschou, Jack (Ruth) Napoli and Rose Napoli. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Phillip was a graduate of South Broward High School in Hollywood, Florida. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1961. While in the military, he was a member of the Marine Corps Rifle Team. Phillip earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami in 1960.
He worked with various companies as a Mechanical Engineer including Pratt and Whitney, Belcan, and Norththrop Grumman before joining the General Electric Company in Evendale, Ohio. During the 30 years he worked at General Electric, he earned 11 US patents that were also recognized in France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, and Germany relating to aircraft engine design. Phillip was a member of the Elfun Society.
After retiring from the General Electric Company, he enjoyed over 20 years of his life focusing on the things he loved the most: his beloved family, his large circle of friends, a diverse set of hobbies, and community service. His zest for life was evident with his passion for traveling the world scuba diving and honing his skills as an underwater photographer. Phillip volunteered with the Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky for 19 years. He was a long- time member of the Butler County Sportsman Club. Phillip was a charter member of 33 years at the GE Fitness Center in Evendale, Ohio.
Phillip was a member of Christ Church Glendale in Glendale, Ohio and later served on the vestry at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in West Chester, Ohio.
A private memorial service has been planned at the Neptune Memorial Reef in Key Biscayne, Florida.
