Ralph Green

Ralph L. Green, 92, of Mason, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Ralph was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by many. 

 Ralph was born on November 10, 1931 to the late Thomas Green and Opal McVey Green. He grew up in Chesapeake, West Virginia and graduated from East Bank High School in 1949. He worked at the family owned Esso gas station until he joined the Army in 1952. He proudly served his country from 1952 to 1954 overseas in France. Upon his return, he married his sweetheart, Ruby Boyd, on July 31, 1954. Without a doubt, Ruby was the light of his life.

 To make a better life for his family, he accepted a position with McLean Trucking in 1965 and moved to Mason, Ohio. He was a dedicated member of Socialville Baptist Church for 57 years where he served as a deacon and was later named honorary deacon. 

 In his younger years, he loved to play guitar and sing bluegrass music with his family and friends. Ralph valued hard work and was a talented jack of all trades that could build or fix most anything. In his later years yardwork was his hobby. He would spend hours puttering around the yard on his motorized scooter trimming and pulling weeds.  

 He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ruby Green, his parents, and brothers, Hughie Green, William “Joe” Green, and Roger Green.

 He is survived by daughters Patsy Sliger (Greg), Polly Green (David), Esther Green, and son, Richard Green; 6 grandchildren, Rick, Ellen (Jamie), Jay (Melissa), Evan (Betsy), Hannah (Aaron) and Ethan; 7 great-grandchildren, Victoria, Jonah, Lucy, Ruby, Lilly, Mabry, and Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.

 Visitation will take place on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Socialville Baptist Church, 5946 Socialville-Foster Road, Mason, OH 45040 from 11:00am until the funeral service at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
