Rebecca Lynne Harding-Hurst passed away suddenly Monday, April 18th, 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio at 53 years old. Rebecca was born on February 7, 1963 to Hal Harding and Patricia Harsar in Painesville, Ohio. After her mother's passing, Rebecca's father Hal remarried Alice Baum and the two raised Rebecca, Michelle, Jenny, and David in the Cincinnati area. In her early twenties, Rebecca fell in love and married Dale Hurst. Their only son Shane was born in the summer of 1987. After an amicable split, the two remained close while they raised their son in Cleveland, Ohio. Later she returned to Cincinnati to be close to her family. Rebecca loved music and was an avid reader. She enjoyed researching and studied neuropsychology for a period of time. She also loved animals, especially her dogs. What Rebecca loved most was spending time with her family. She could often be found painting her nails, relaxing and chatting with family outside on the porch or watching scary movies with her sister, Michelle. A highlight of her summers was hanging out and riding roller coasters with her nephew Sam. Rebecca was charismatic and always lending a helping hand. The neighborhood knew her as "Aunt Rebecca". Rebecca touched so many people and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her family will miss her greatly. She is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia J. Harding. Rebecca is survived by her son Shane Hurst, sisters Michelle Page and Jennifer (Mark) Schuermann, brother David Harding, and her father and stepmother Harold and Alice Harding. She was a loving aunt to Jessie, Zachariah and Sam, and great aunt to Ruby. Services will be held Saturday, April 23rd at St. Clare Church, 1443 Cedar Avenue, 45224 from 1:30 until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30. Condolences at hodappfuneralhome.com
