Richard C. Roots

ROOTS, Richard C. of Cincinnati, OH went to be with his Savior on August 12, 2011 at the Brookwood Retirement Community. He was born on September 26, 1919 in Casey County, Kentucky and resided in Cincinnati since 1942. Richard was the son of James A. and Elizabeth Roots. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Montie E. Roots, in June of 2010 along with his parents, his sister Mary Pierce and his brother Irie Roots. He is survived by his sons Paul (Sandy) Roots, Richard (Sharon) Roots and a very special nephew, who Mom and Dad Roots always called their third son, Tom (Kim) Pendleton of Louisville, KY, a sister Gladys Price of New Albany, IN as well as 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and dear friends. Richard was a long-time resident of Carthage and long-time member of Fellowship Tabernacle Church. He worked at Philip Carey Manufacturing in Lockland, OH for over 38 years and was a proud veteran of World War II. Visitation to be held at Fellowship Tabernacle Church, 6910 Vine St., Cinti., OH 45216, Monday from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am. Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Springdale, OH. The family would like to extend deepest thanks to the caring staff and volunteers at Brookwood Retirement Community and also the personnel of Hospice of Southwest Ohio.
