Richard Lee Robinette Jr.

Richard L. Robinette Jr., West Chester – Richard Lee “Dick” Robinette Jr. of West Chester, Ohio, passed away Jan. 15, 2019. He was born in Wise County, Va., on June 3, 1949, to the late Richard and Margaret (McConnell) Robinette. Richard is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years, Linda (McFarland); his daughter, Sandy (Michael) Oberweiser; his son, Tom (Daneane); his sister, Joanie (Joe) Schumacher; his grandchildren Brooke, Avery, Rilee, Paige, and Reece; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was a graduate of Woodward High School and a proud University of Cincinnati alumnus. He retired from General Electric after a nearly 40-year career. He was a beleaguered Cincinnati sports fan, an aspiring PGA Tour golfer, an eager consumer of all things science fiction, and most likely to be overheard asking “When are we going to Disney World?” Visitation will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Road, West Chester, followed by a brief memorial service from 2:30-3 p.m. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held from 4-6 p.m. at his sister’s home in Liberty Township. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
