Richard S. Leahy

Richard Shanley., Sr., beloved husband for 63 years to the late Lilian (nee Blum Chavez), loving father of Lillian (Daniel) McCabe and the late Richard Shanley Leahy, Jr., dear brother of Robert (Nancy) and the late George, Timothy, James, John and Matthew, uncle of Janice and Christopher. Dick graduated from St. Xavier H.S. Louisville, Ky, and held a law degree from The Jefferson School of Law (University of Louisville), he was a special agent in the F.B.I. serving in Bremerton, Washington, Bakersfield, California, Caracas, Venezuela, Santiago, Chile and Cincinnati, Ohio. For many years, he worked as a real estate broker. He was a longtime member of the Reading Kiwanis Club, volunteered for the Hamilton County Council for Retarded Children and was active on the Cincinnati Real Estate Board. He was a 50 plus year member of St. Bartholomew Church where he served as a eucharistic minister and usher and was a 35 year member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society where he was past president. He loved playing bridge and was an avid Reds and Bengals fan. Passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at age 98. Visitation at St. Bartholomew Church 9375 Winton Rd., 45231 Tuesday February 10, 2015 from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
