Richard T. Wurzelbacher

Richard T., M.D., beloved husband of Dorothy S. (nee Schmitt), loving father of Richard T. Jr., Elizabeth W., the late Nancy L., Martha M., and Thomas G. Dear grandfather of eight and brother of the late Robert M. Wurzelbacher. Richard graduated from St. Xavier High School, Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He was a U.S. Navy Medical Officer, completed fellowships in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, and was the past president of Providence Hospital Medical Staff (Mercy Mt. Airy). Dick and Dotty were extensive world travelers and residents of Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida.. He was an active alumnus at both St. Xavier High School and Xavier University. He passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at the of age 84. Visitation will be held at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Ave., College Hill, 45224 on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at Little Flower, 5560 Kirby Rd., Mt. Airy, Wednesday at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Xavier High School or Xavier University Scholarship funds, or to Hospice of Cincinnati.
