Robert Filoso

With sad hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Allen Filoso of Mason, Ohio, on February 12, 2025, at the age of 84. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Bob touched the lives of many with his kindness, thoughtful acts of service, good-natured humor, and devoted love for his family.

Bob was born on March 9, 1940, in Middletown, Ohio, to Frank C. and Thelma E. (née Brown) Filoso. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a mechanical mind. He retired after a 40-plus-year career at Akers Packaging in Middletown, OH. He spent his retirement years tirelessly serving his family and others. He loved tinkering in his garage, repairing cars, and tackling home improvement projects. He also found joy in metal recycling, forging, and fishing.

Along with his wife, Bob was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings, including the Sunday School presidency, Elders Quorum, and as an ordinance worker in the LDS Columbus Ohio Temple. Bob lived the tenets of his faith: “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God.” Along with serving, he found great joy in lifting others through encouraging words and bringing a smile to someone’s face. These small acts of kindness often left him declaring, “You made my day!”

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Frank, William, and Kenny. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith; his children and their spouses, Theresa (Arnold) Baughman, Chris (Vickie) Filoso, Karen (Robert) Pflueger, Susan (Kelly) Bahr, Amy (Jon) Hayden, and John (Cindy) Filoso, along with 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral services for Bob will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7118 Dutchland Parkway, Middletown, OH 45044. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:25 a.m., followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Bob’s final resting place will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, OH. Interment will follow immediately after the church funeral services.
