Robert Hermann Miles

Robert Hermann Miles, 88, of Wilmington, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 24th, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Miles. Bob and Pat were married for 57 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Samuel Robert Miles (Madison, VA) and Franklin Miles (Herndon, VA); two daughters: Tami Showen (Wilmington, OH), and Judy Marshall (West Chester, OH); 5 grandchildren: Shannon and Megan Marshall, Brandon and Lauren Showen, and Ian Miles; and one great grandchild Adriana Marshall. Bob’s sister Betty Dutina lives in Fremont, California. Mr. Miles was born March 18th, 1921, in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the son of Bessie Barnes Miles and Leslie Miles. Robert Miles was an Army and Air Force veteran serving in World War II, the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Viet Nam War. Mr. Miles retired as a Major in the US Air Force Reserves in 1962, and he retired from Civil Service US Air Force Logistics Command Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1983. There will be a memorial celebration in the Cottingham Retirement Community Chapel at 7: 00 p.m. on December 30th at 3995 Cottingham Drive, Sharonville, Ohio. Burial will take place Thursday, December 31st at Highland Cemetery, 2167 Dixie Highway, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017. Arrangements were made under the direction of Hodapp Funeral Home, West Chester, Ohio.
