On February 5, 2025, Ronald Thomas "Frenchie" Drouillard, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep due to respiratory complications of dementia.
Ronald was born on January 9, 1941 in Bellevue, Ohio to Warren Drouillard and Marguerite Palmer. He grew up in northern Ohio and graduated in 1959 from St. Mary High School in Sandusky. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served for 5 years in Alaska and at the Pentagon. He spent the majority of his working career in the IT department at AT&T in both Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Ronald was a devoted family man, a devout Catholic, and an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He was blessed to live long enough to see his beloved Buckeyes win the 2025 NCAA National Football Championship. Ronald had a passion for travel and was proud to have visited all 50 states, including numerous historical battlefields and cemeteries (one of his passions). Later in life, he began exploring international travel with his dear friends Michael and Wendy Lynch. Together, they visited over 20 foreign countries taking innumerable pictures along the way. Highlights of his many trips include his first cruise to Hawaii, his visit to Vatican City, and his trip to the WWII battlefields of Normandy.
Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved second wife Elizabeth (Kokotaylo), his parents, and his siblings, Nancy Didion, Sandy Didion, and Dennis Michael Drouillard. He is survived by his first wife Sandy DeMonia, his 3 children and their spouses, Michelle (Scott) Wilson, Derek Drouillard, and Jarrett (Karen) Drouillard, and his sister Peggy Ricci. Additionally, he was the very proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.
Ronald spent the last few years of his life at The Landing of Long Cove in Mason, Ohio. There he found loving care, friendship, fun, and a passion for Bingo. The family is forever grateful for The Landing community for making his final years truly magical and happy. Until the end, his life remained filled with joy, laughter, spiritual peace, and the loving support of family and friends.
