Roxie Ann Gillespie

Roxie was born on May 3, 1938 to Burl and Bertha, at a loving home in Sturgis, KY.

She graduated from Murray State College, Jennie Stuart School of Nursing in Hopkinsville, Kentucky as a Registered Nurse.

She was employed as a nurse at Bethesda North Hospital for 23 years. She was known there for starting pre-admission testing, and helping other hospitals create the service.

Roxie was a wonderful mother and cherished wife. Married to the love of her life for 64 years. She loved her home, family, and friends, as well as spoiling her beloved dogs. she was a generous giving person, who enjoyed gardening, sewing, and travel.

Roxie is preceded in death by her loving husband Dave Gillespie. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Hammock, and son-in-law Kenneth Hammock.

Donations may be made to either the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, St. Jude Research Hospital, or Disabled American Veterens.
