Ruth A. Burgett

Ruth A. Burgett, age 89, died at home in Mason OH on July 27, 2015. Her husband of 48 years, Henry A. Burgett, and parents, Loretta and Clifford Grunkemeyer, preceded her in death. She is survived by son Bert of Knoxville TN; son David of Melbourne FL; daughter Barb (Dave) Suica of Spring Lake MI; daughter Deb (Bill) Mountsier of Mason OH; son Greg (Brenda) of Sheboygan WI; sister Betty (Richard) Everhart of Cincinnati; brother John (June) Grunkemeyer of Ft. Myers FL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Born in Cincinnati OH, she graduated from St. Ursula Academy in 1945. Married in 1952, she was a devoted wife and mother to five children. In retirement with Henry, they moved to Naples FL in 1988 then to Ponte Vedra Beach FL in 1995. She lived in their second Ponte Vedra Beach home until August 2014 at which time she relocated to the Brookdale Senior Living center in Mason OH. The siblings give their gratitude to Deb for many hours of weekly care provided to our mother.
She was a member of The Community of the Good Shepherd Catholic Parish before moving to Florida. While living in Ponte Vedra Beach she attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She loved the game of bridge and was a member of three women’s bridge clubs until failing eyesight forced her to quit the game in fall 2013.
​Visitation with family will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1 at The Community of the Good Shepherd, 8815 East Kemper Rd., Cincinnati OH 45249. A funeral Mass honoring her life will be held at 10:00 followed by procession to Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Appreciation is expressed to the caring staff of Brookdale Long Cove Pointe and Crossroads Hospice.
