RUTH SPRING
Homemaker, Volunteer and Missionary
Ruth O. (OLLER) Spring, age 85, died on November 21, 2018 with her family, at her home in West Chester, Ohio. Born January 5, 1933 in Waynesboro, PA, Ruth served with The Christian and Missionary Alliance as a missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and as a pastor's wife in Manchester, PA and Moosic, PA. She was a resident of Streetsboro from 1984 to May 2018 when she and her husband moved to 8894 Cox Road, West Chester, OH 45069 to be closer to family. Ruth was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Shalersville and a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
During the 31 years her husband served as a chaplain of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, Ruth dedicated herself to volunteer services in the developmental centers. Her first love was for individuals with cognitive disabilities. She served as volunteer Christian Education Director, created visual teaching aids, encouraged and trained volunteers,
faithfully attended services; helping constantly, always assisting and supporting.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Warren G. Oller and John E. Oller, Ruth is survived by Herbert K. Spring, her beloved husband of 64 years, her son, John (Jeanie) of West Chester, OH, and her grandsons, Joshua Spring (Amy) of Cincinnati, OH and Joel Spring of West Chester, OH.
The funeral service took place on November 26, 2018 at Turning Point Church in West Chester with Rev. Matthew Liddick officiating. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery in Deerfield, Ohio.
