Sam Spampinato

SPAMPINATO Samuel “Sam” age 91 passed away on Thursday November 5, 2009 at Vitas Hospice. Sam was the beloved husband of the late Mary Spampinato (nee Bua), devoted father of Joyce (Stan) Carlson, the late Paul (Pam) Spampinato, the late John (Doris) Spampinato, Carol (Fred) Ruzick, Cathy (David) Wells, and Joe Spampinato. Loving brother of the late Marie Servizzi, Frank and Joe Spampinato. Loving grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 21 children. Sam was the son of Italian immigrants who came to the US in the early 1900s. He volunteered at many Nursing Homes on the West Side lifting the residents’ spirits with his entertaining style on the piano. He was an avid Reds fan who listened to every game on his portable radio. He served his Country in WWII as a communications officer. He was an active member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 1191, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, Northgate “ Black Hats” Club, Llanfair Retirement Home, St. James Seniors and Colerain Seniors Club. He was also an active member of St Ann parish. Friends may call at Saint Ann Church 2900 West Galbraith Road, Tuesday November 10th from 11:30AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM.
