On Monday May 11, 2020, Sandra Ruth Harp (nee Jamieson), loving wife, mother of five children, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren passed away from natural causes at the age of 84. Sandra was born on March 12, 1936 in Norfolk, Virginia.
She received her Education degree from Peabody College in Nashville, TN. and her Master’s degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Sandra worked as a Catholic schoolteacher until she retired. After retirement, Sandra worked for St. John’s Catholic Church in West Chester, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
On July 12, 1958, she married Terry Harp of Nashville, TN. They raised five children, one son Terrance Michael (Mike) Harp and four daughters, Charlotte (Chari), Patricia (Patti), Susan (Suzi) and Jamie.
Sandra and Terry were well known and loved in West Chester, Ohio as the owners of the Blue Cactus Grill restaurant and for their involvement in the community and Lakota schools. Sandra had a love for all sports, especially Cincinnati Home teams and she loved to travel. She was a devoted Catholic who attended Mass at St. John’s and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. Sandra was dedicated to raising her children and educating others. She loved sharing her memories and wisdom with her grand and great grandchildren.
Terry and Sandra were married for 62 years and devoted to each other. They loved to dance, and you would often find them holding hands. Their marriage was an inspiration and model to all that knew them.
Sandra was proceeded in death by her son, Terrance Michael (Mike), her father Gilbert Jamieson and her mother Ruth Jamieson (Ganci). She is survived by her husband Terry Harp, her sister Mary Ann Noe (Bob) and her four daughters, Chari Gough (Richard), Patti VanGheem (David), Suzi Phillips (Joe) and Jamie Rush (Wayne) and her grand and great grandchildren. Sandra was beloved by all family members, nieces, nephews (great) and in laws.
A Celebration of Life for Sandra will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make a donation to the
Alzheimer’s Association.
