Loving mother of Linda M Austin (Kenneth), and the late Thomas R Farrel. Treasured grandmother of Virginia Lubankski Engwall, Lynsie (Grant) O’Dell, Gabrielle Nunez, Colton (Allison) Farrel, and Adam Nunez. Dear great grandmother of Sawyer-Jo Farrel and Will O’Dell. Cherished sister of Barbara (the late Dr. Robert) Alaimo and Thomas Herman. Daughter of the late George A and Bernice Herman. Beloved Aunt of Cheryl (Mike) Grice, Christine (Dean) Robison, Robert (Kara) Alaimo Jr., Melissa Herman Doody, George (Sarah) Herman, and Henry Herman.
Most of all, Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family and her faithful dogs Lily and Dominick. She loved reading crime novels and murder mysteries. As a foodie, she also had a sweet tooth like her father and enjoyed a good piece of chocolate! Sandy enjoyed camping, horseback & trail riding, and spending time with friends around a campfire in her youth. Halloween was her favorite holiday and Sandy loved her collection of decorative witches.
Professionally, Sandra earned her Educational Doctorate from Vanderbilt University in Educational Leadership. She taught at Miami University, Oxford Ohio, in the education department. Sandra began her career as a speech and language pathologist with her Bachelor of Science and Master of Special Education degrees from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. During her life-long career as a professional educator, Sandra served as both an elementary school principal and district-level administrator.
