MIDDLETON, Sean, beloved son of Charles and Suzette Middleton and brother of Megan Middleton left this earth to go play with the angels on October 19, 2015. Sean was a special child with Cri du Chat syndrome and would have turned 25 on November 2. Sean was a happy boy who touched so many lives with his quick smile and simple joy of life, evoking such warm feelings and love from those who knew and worked with him over the years. Sean was fully included in public school through the 12
th grade in the Princeton School District. He was supported by Nanny Sam and several Special Ed aides who played pivotal roles in Sean’s education and development. He loved playing in the water, the warmer the better. He had a special fondness for whales, dolphins and fish. He loved to ride, everything from airplanes, to trains, cars, boats. If it moved, Sean wanted to ride it. His favorite pastime was finding things to spin- cups, bowls, lids, you name it! Sean had a special fondness for pink and purple toys that fit his hand so that he could hold them easily and take them wherever he went. He loved to come home and play with his dogs, Lucy and Ches. We tried Tops Soccer- he liked to go, but preferred to sit in the middle of the field, watching everyone running around the field. He did manage to kick the ball now and again.
Sean lived for the past 6 years at the Southwestern Ohio Developmental Center (SODC). While living at SODC, Sean developed special relationships with the many staff that cared for him with kindness and love. He gave them a run for their money from time to time, but at the end of the day, he was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by them. In the words of one of the staff: “If the world was made of trains and dolphins, it would be a great world at that! Five years ago Sean became a part of the SODC family. He brought out the true beauty of things that are sometimes over looked in this busy world. Sean loved to dance. He also loved trains and dolphins. Most of all Sean loved his family and the people in his life. Sean was such a joy to be around. His heart was so gratefully in love with beautiful music, music that most would call noise but to Sean it was his heart song. The sounds of whistles and bells couldn't be any more delightful. His heart would dance a rhythm that his feet couldn't contain. Sean's loving memory will forever live in our hearts.
It seems as if Sean left us way too early, but his purpose was fulfilled in this life and it was time for him to go live in the arms of Jesus.
A memorial service will be held for Sean on Saturday, November 7 at 12 PM at the Saint Clare Convent located at 60 Compton Road, zip code 45215 in Cincinnati. A reception will follow at the Convent.
