Sean Patrick McCarthy

August 20, 1969 — June 22, 2022

It is with extreme sadness that we mourn the loss of a great man.  Sean Patrick McCarthy was born August 20th, 1969, in Cincinnati, Ohio and died Wednesday June 22nd in Juno Beach, Florida after a battle with a rare form of cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Brenda Schultz-McCarthy, their sons Brendan (13) and Damien (10) and their many dogs and other farm animals.  Also survived by his Brother Peter J. McCarthy Jr, his wife Paula and their daughter Hannah and her husband John Wilson, his brother Thomas McCarthy and wife Marie MacLeod, sisters Molly McCarthy and Catherine Hogan and her husband Richard and their son Bryce.

He is predeceased by his parents, Peter J. McCarthy and Mary Ellen McCarthy ne Hogan.

Sean graduated from Roger Bacon High school in 1987 and the University of Cincinnati with a business degree while on a football scholarship in 1991. Sean met his wife Brenda in Florida while he was working for Dean Witter.

Twenty years ago, when his wife, a professional tennis player on the WTA Tour, suffered a career ending back injury, Sean made it his mission to explore all the ways stress affects human beings. Brenda was able to return and break a world record due to the systems he developed. Sean was a world-renowned health coach, healer, and peak performance expert.  He worked with elite athletes, business leaders, practitioners, entertainers, families, individuals, and communities alike, to identify and eliminate their own unique limitations in life.  For the past twenty years, Sean and his wife Brenda successfully ran The Brenda Schultz Tennis Camp in Virginia.

Sean’s many passions included reading, organic farming, and anything to do with sports and nature. But Sean’s greatest passion and achievement, aside from his family, was the creation of The TEDS Foundation (Think, Eat, Do, Serve), which has holistically educated, empowered, and trained children and families from over 30 countries. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the TEDS Foundation in Sean’s name to help keep his dream operable. Donate (tedsfoundation.org), or TEDS Foundation, 2446 Deer Run RD, Ferrum, VA 24088

Information on a memorial and celebration of his life will follow.
