UTTINGER, Sharon Janet (Elam), 71, was born on December 15, 1946, the third of three and the only girl of Ormond Kelly and Thelma Francis (Johnson) in Mt. Sterling, KY. Always a selfless woman, in a seemingly final act of kindness, Sharon held tightly to her life until after the passing of her mother on October 31, 2018 that Thelma would not endure the loss of her only living child; then, on November 1, 2018, in her home and surrounded by family, Sharon went peacefully to be with the Lord. Twenty-five years ago when they married, Sharon spiced the life of Victor B. Uttinger III with her spontaneity and hunger for adventure. Sharon was a sister: Brentin Curry (Sandra), sister-in-law, Violet (Elam) Caskey and Terence Wayne (Cheryl). Perhaps, most proudly, Sharon was mother to Gina (Oldfield) Edwards (Eric) and Kristin (Mercer) Brown and stepmother to Zara (Uttinger) Smith (Gary) and Jessica Uttinger. She was also “Mimi” to four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and friend to anyone whose path she crossed. Sharon was a light in the world, she genuinely desired
to know people deeply and she never met a stranger. She spent her life loving the Lord and she happily shared the joy of knowing Him with everyone around her. She was a long time member of Oasis Church in Middletown. Sharon's love for people drew her to a career in social work in Butler County where she fit naturally and found great fulfillment in helping others. She loved culture and the
arts and was incredibly talented in drawing and painting. She was classy and lovable, smart and charismatic. To know her was to love her. Her loss will be deeply felt until we reunite in paradise! Visitation on Sunday, November 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45044. Visitation will also be held at Bethany UMC, 6388 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45044 on Monday, November 5 from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family thanks you for donations to Supports to Encourage Low-income Families (SELF).
NOTE: There will be no cemetery graveside service for Sharon. Only for Thelma, her mother.
