Simone Isabella Scott, beloved daughter of Valerie (Bill) Kraimer and Kevin Scott, passed away June 11, 2021, at the age of 19.
Simone was a freshman at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL with a double major in broadcast journalism and political science/pre-law. Taken from us too soon, she was inarguably a very bright, determined and compassionate young lady who had consistently faced challenges with determination and focus. She had dreams and aspirations to make a difference in this world through her chosen profession and her life. She had already done so judging by the tremendous words of love by the hundreds of people she has already touched in just a short number of years.
As a 2020 graduate of William Mason High School, a member of the Mason community since she was 2 years old, a member of the Vineyard and Crossroads Churches, a dancer at the Mason Dance Center and an active member of the Mason Community Center, Simone’s roots grew deep in the Mason, Ohio community. She was Senior Class Vice President, a four year executive member of Student Government, a steady presence in SIBS (Students Involving and Befriending other Students), a volunteer with Brookdale Senior Living, working with hospice patients, and a good friend to many in the community.
That leadership and drive to excel followed her to Evanston, IL and the Northwestern University campus. She was excited to become a part of the legacy of Meddill, the leading school of journalism in the country. In her short time at Northwestern, Simone quickly joined the Alpha Phi Sorority and utilized her journalism skills as an anchor and reporter for Northwestern News Network. She was a bright star that shined in Mason, OH and on campus in Evanston, IL and now shines in Heaven.
Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her grandparents Evelyn Lorenzo, Harry Scott and Elizabeth Scott. Survived by her step-grandfather, Robert Kraimer Sr. Visitation will be held Monday, June 21, 2021, at Crossroads Church Mason 990 Reading Rd, Mason, OH 45040 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the church.
