Sister Virginia Ann Froehle

Sister Virginia Ann Froehle, RSM (formerly Sister Rosaire), sister of the Sisters of Mercy for 69 years.  Daughter of the late Carl Froehle and Virginia Schaefer.  Passed away on October 17, 2022, at the age of 87.  Preceded in death by brother, Alan Froehle and sister, Theresa Ganote.

Sister Virginia Ann was born in Cincinnati, attended Mother of Mercy High School and entered the Sisters of Mercy on September 8, 1953. She earned a BA in English form Our Lady of Cincinnati College and an MA from Marquette University.  Much of her early ministry involved teaching English to high school students.  Later she worked as pastoral minister and an editor at St. Anthony Messenger. 

From 1991- 2018, Virginia did retreat work and spiritual direction.  She was a freelance writer.  She published three books and three audiocassettes along with numerous articles.

A natural burial was held at St. Joseph Cemetery on Wednesday, October 19.  Memorial Mass will be celebrated at McAuley Convent, 1768 Cedar Ave., 45224, on October 21, beginning at 6:30.
