Sr. Ann Mary Lay, RSM

Sister Ann Mary Lay (former Sister Mary Crescentia) sister of the Sisters of Mercy for 67 years.  Daughter of Fred Lay and Elsie Nock.  Passed away on July 25, 2023, at the age of 90.  Survived by her sister, Rosemary Rosfelder.

Sister Ann Mary was born in Cincinnati and attended Mother of Mercy High School.  She entered the Sisters of Mercy on February 2, 1956.  She earned her BSED at Our Lady of Cincinnati College and her MED at Xavier University.  She served in elementary schools in the Cincinnati Archdiocese, Dayton and Cleveland as a teacher and principal.  She served at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish as a pastoral minister.

Visitation will be held at McAuley Convent, 1768 Cedar Ave., 45224 from 4:00-6:00 on Monday, July 31.  Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 6:15. Burial, Tuesday, August 1, at St. Joseph (new) Cemetery.  Meet at McAuley Convent at 9:30. Memorials may be directed to the Sisters of Mercy, McAuley Convent; 1768 Cedar Ave., Cincinnati, 45224.
