Sr. Charlotte Marie Foppe, RSM

Sister Charlotte Marie Foppe, RSM, sister of the Sisters of Mercy for 74 years.  Daughter of the late Clement Foppe and Eugenia Philippe Foppe.  Passed away on October 7, 2022 at the age of 92.  Preceded in death by Mary Alice Brafford, Jim, William, and Richard Foppe, Sister Mary Jean Foppe, RSM, Dorothy McDonald, and Mildred Pandolph.  Her many living relatives include nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Sister Charlotte was born in Cincinnati, attended Seton High School and entered the Sisters of Mercy on September 8, 1948.  She earned her BSED from Edgecliff College and her ML from Spalding University.  Her ministries included being an elementary school teacher and principal and serving as a school librarian.  Besides her work in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, she also was principal in Toledo and Amelia, Ohio.  Sister Charlotte traveled with the Children’s International Summer Village for several years.

Visitation will be held at McAuley Convent. 1768 Cedar Ave., 45223 from 4:00-6:00 on Thursday, October 13 with the Mass of the Resurrection at 6:15.  Burial will be Friday, October 14 at St. Joseph (new) cemetery at 10:00.  Memorials may be directed to the Sisters of Mercy, McAuley Convent; 1768 Cedar Ave., Cincinnati, 45224.
