Stanley Shoryer's Funeral Service Stanley E. Shroyer, (also known as Stan, Stan the Man, Honest Stan and Sonny Boy) was the beloved husband of Christina R. Shroyer, loving father of the late Deborah Morey, Melinda (Jim) Gibson, Kent (Janice Fleming) Shroyer and Kim (Dennis) Dalton. Stan was the grandfather of the late H.B. Hinton Jr., Rachele Bailey, Nicholas Morey, James Gibson Jr., Jennifer Woodruff, Emily Shroyer, Megan Shroyer, Rachel Shroyer, Dennison Dalton, Kristan Dalton, and Kamryn Dalton. He was the great-grandfather of 12, great-great grandfather of 1, brother of Ronald (Carroll) Shroyer and Phillip (Joan) Shroyer and is preceded in death by his sister, Jackie (Don) Boldman. Stan and Chris married on February 11, 1961 and were happily married for 60 years. They lived in Columbus Ohio, New York, Indianapolis and for most of their marriage - Cincinnati Ohio. Stan worked for General Foods for 31 years and retired in the mid-80’s. He was a loving husband and family man. Devoted to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Stan enjoyed spending time with them, traveling with Chris and spending winters in Bradenton, Florida during his retirement years.Stan attended Springdale Church of the Nazarene and spent his life serving Christ in all aspects. From singing bass in a gospel quartet as a young man to volunteering in the inner-city of Cincinnati, Stan was a man of faith and he freely shared it with others. He was loved immensely by all who knew him. Stan passed away on February 11, 2021 at the age of 91. A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd. (Rt 42), West Chester, OH 45069 from 12pm until the time of service at 1pm. A graveside prayer and presentation of the American flag will take place immediately following at Rose Hill Mason Cemetery, 171 Mason Montgomery Rd, Mason, OH 45040. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Billy Graham Evangelical Association or Samaritan’s Purse.
