Steven W. Hart

HART Steven Wayne, 63, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.Steve was born on October 10, 1950 to Donald and Kathryn Hart. He was raised in Grove City where he spent his childhood fishing and swimming with his six siblings at their pond. After Grove City High School, he spent six years serving his country in the Marine Reserves. He met his loving wife, Susan Hart, in 1975 and together they raised two sons, Jason and Jeffrey Hart. He worked hard for almost 30 years at the Smurfit Stone Recycling Company. Although he travelled often for work, he was sure to make it to every baseball game, play toss in the backyard, and fill the weekends with golf and home improvements with his boys. Becoming a grandfather to Jessica and Audrey Hart turned him into a big softy. He was a good man – hardworking, kind, and patient – and touched many lives throughout his own. Steve is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan (Roby) Hart, sons Jason (Melissa) and Jeffrey (Courtney), granddaughters Jessica and Audrey, and siblings Donna (Tom), Ned (Sherry), Deborah (Joseph), Raymond (Kathy), and Diane (Kerry), along with in-laws Everett and Dorothy Roby, and Susan’s siblings Everett Roby, Margaret (Paul) Kelly, Veronica Stires, Elizabeth Hill, and Lawrence Roby. He’s preceded in death by his parents Donald and Kathryn Hart and brother Roger Hart. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5 from 10:00 until 11:30AM followed by service and 21-Gun Salute at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Road in West Chester, Ohio.
