Suzanne Jacobs Packard

July 30, 1944 — November 17, 2020

Suzanne is survived by her loving family: devoted husband of 44 years, Michael; daughters Elizabeth Packard and Gwendolyn Suzanne Langslet (nee Packard); son-in-law Craig Langslet; grandchildren Morgan and Grant Langslet; brother John Jacobs (Kelly Bard Jacobs); nephews Erik Jacobs and Marc Jacobs; sister-in-law Emily Packard Durbin (Rick Durbin); and niece Carey Haley Baloy (Stephane). Suzanne also leaves behind a family-like circle of close friends in her neighborhood. Suzanne was predeceased by her parents, Clarice and Edgar Jacobs and her brothers Jim Jacobs and Hugh Jacobs.

Suzanne lived a full and happy life, as reflected in the unmistakable laugh that she was known for.  She grew up in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and earned her undergraduate degree from Western Maryland College and her master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.  She had a gift for foreign language, being fluent in multiple languages, and loved to study other cultures. She began her career teaching French and Spanish in the Baltimore County school system, and after becoming a mother, she continued her career in teaching including aerobics and as an exercise instructor to senior citizens.  She loved gardening, traveling, dancing, ocean waves, meeting new people, and supporting and encouraging the many people whose lives she touched in a profound way including in Pennsylvania, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Florida, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.

She was a longtime member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Wyoming, Ohio as well as a member of the Cincinnati Herb Society, and volunteered many hours in a wide variety of different ways in her community and the local school system and athletic programs.

The family looks forward to sharing many happy memories of Suzanne’s life at memorial gatherings in the spring or summer of 2021, and would like to express their sincerest appreciation for the love and support extended to them during this difficult time. On behalf of the family, In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cincinnati chapters of Dress for Success (DFSCINCY.ORG) or the Ronald McDonald House (RMHCINCINNATI.ORG).
