Terry Harp

March 4, 1938 — May 27, 2020

On Wednesday May 27th, 2020, Terry Harp, loving husband, father of five children, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren passed away from natural causes at the age of 82.

Terry was born on March 4, 1938 in Nashville, TN.  Terry received his Engineering Degree from the University of Tennessee.  He worked as an engineer for NASA, and a Sales Manager for Phillips Ultrasound before striking out on a new path as a successful restaurant owner.

On July 12, 1958, he married Sandra Jamieson of Oak Ridge, TN.  They raised five children, one son Terrance Michael (Mike) and four daughters, Charlotte (Chari), Patricia (Patti), Susan (Suzi) and Jamie.

Terry and Sandra were well known and loved in West Chester, Ohio as the owners of the Blue Cactus Grill restaurant and for their involvement in the community and Lakota schools.  Terry loved cooking and experiencing the great food scene in the Cincinnati area and all over the world.  He was an avid reader and a devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan even through difficult seasons. He loved spending time with his children and great/grandchildren, talking books, politics and watching sports.

Terry and Sandra were inseparable for 62 years and after just 2 weeks and 2 days apart on earth Terry joined the love of his life in heaven where they are holding hands and dancing again. Theirs was truly the greatest love story that has yet to be written.

Terry was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Sandra, his son, Mike, his father Robert Harp, his mother Mildred (Feinstein) Harp, his brother Robert (Bob) Harp and his half-sister Barbara Murphy  He is survived by his sister Shirley Parmenter, his brother Michael Harp (Elsa) and his 4 daughters, Chari Gough (Richard), Patti Van Gheem (David), Suzi Phillips (Joe) and Jamie Rush (Wayne) and his grand and great grandchildren.  As patriarch of the family he was beloved by all; cousins, nieces, nephews and in laws.

A Celebration of Life for Both Terry and Sandra will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
