Theda Erleen (Doss) Percer, 93, beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Calvin Thomas Percer, and by her father Lasco Doss, her mother Roxie Mae Lilly and her two lifelong friends Ruth Grimm and Ann Smith.She was born on July 9, 1922 in Macon County, TN to Lasco and Roxie Mae (Blankenship) Doss. She moved to Cincinnati, OH when she was seven and was a 1941 graduate of Woodrow High School. She worked at LeBlond Engineering in Oakley, and then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1943. She served as a Yeoman Second Class, primarily in FL, and received the Theater Ribbon and Victory Ribbon. On April 11, 1947 she married Calvin Thomas Percer at Wesley Chapel in Cincinnati, OH. Calvin died on November 25, 1995. During her marriage Erleen primarily was a homemaker, but also worked at Retail Credit and at the I.R.S. She enjoyed singing with the Seven Hills Chapter of the Sweet Adelines, especially when the chorus won the World Championship competition in Phoenix, AZ in 1981. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandson, Benjamin, prior to his starting school. Erleen is survived by her sons Steven R. (Jonnie Lynn) Percer and Roger A. Percer and daughter Linda J. Chandler, all of Cincinnati, OH; by her daughter Adele S. (Timothy) Percer-Snook of Vevay, IN; by her grandson, Benjamin D. (Kelly) Percer and great grandson, Grayson S. Percer, also of Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by six step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. Services already held. Interment Arlington Memorial Gardens in Mt. Healthy. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
