Vanessa Ann Kingery

October 25, 1960 — August 21, 2024

The world lost an incredibly special lady that has touched so many lives. On August 21, 2024, Vanessa "Van" Kingery (nee Reese) left our earthly world to join the countless others that have passed before her.

Van was born on October 25, 1960, to the late Clarice and George Reese. As a child, there was never a dull moment, as she was the sister of the late Sandy Singleton (Michael Hays), the late Chris Reese, and the late Kelly Reese (Mary Jo Reese). Family continued to be a big part of her life. Van leaves behind several close family members and friends, including her beloved nieces and nephews, Bobby Singleton (Amanda Michael), Nathan Headly (Sara Headly), Angela Headly-Jones, and the late James Singleton. Van took great gratitude in being "Ninny" to her great-niece Destiny Jones and great-nephews, Austin and Connor Jones.

On November 22, 1997, Van married the love of her life, Paul Kingery. Besides cuddling in bed with her dogs, her favorite thing to do was to watch Paul and his band perform. Van always made sure to take care of Paul's bandmates, and because of her, there was an endless supply of chicken nuggets at every practice.

Van stood out from others with her sense of humor, intelligence, and beauty. Her heart was caring, compassionate, and selfless. Van's laughter was distinct yet harmonious. Her smile could light up a room. Everybody who knew Van knew she gave great advice and was never judgmental.

Van was an employee at McDonald's since April 1, 1984. Throughout her career, she had a part in shaping countless people in their careers and lives. From teens just starting their first jobs to fellow managers and everybody in between, Van didn't just teach employees how to do their jobs. She taught lessons that her employees and co-workers would use for the rest of their lives. Her coworkers were truly a second family to her, and she loved every one of them.
