BROCKMAN, Velma Imogene (nee Powell) beloved wife of Goble L. Brockman for 64
years. Loving mother of Linda (Ron) DeMoss, Rebecca (Roy) Teague, and Tim (Laura)
Brockman. Dear grandmother of Jessica (Quinton) Freeman, Truett (Jamie) Teague,
Olivia Teague, Eliott Teague, Amelia "Millie" Teague, Felicia Teague Pratt and Madison
Brockman. Dear great-grandmother of Mathias Freeman and Emma Freeman. Also
survived by many relatives and friends. She was preceded by her Father Jesse Powell,
her mother Laura Powell, her Brother Jasper Earls, her sisters Elma Powell, Lucille
Powell, Erma Muse, and Avis Shepherd. Passed away February 3, 2015 at the age of
84. She was a member 65-70 years at Highland Avenue Baptist Church. She was a
teacher and member of the Homemakers Bible study class. She enjoyed reading
Christian books and literature. She was a faithful prayer warrior for the church, family,
and any circumstance she felt warranted prayer. She was born and raised in Russell
Springs, Kentucky. Her family moved to Cincinnati when she was twelve years of age.
She graduated from St. Bernard High school in 1948. Her and Goble married in 1951.
They lived in Pisgah in the same house raising there three children and enjoying
grandchildren since 1959. Visitation will be held at Highland Avenue Baptist Church,
6110 Highland Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45216 on Monday, February 9 from 10 a.m. until
time of service at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
