Waller Massie Scott, Jr. passed away at his home in West Chester, Ohio on July 29, 2017 at the age of 74.
He was born Oct. 22, 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and lived in Bluefield, West Virginia before moving to Simpsonville, Kentucky. A graduate of Simpsonville High School, he earned a B. S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Kentucky. He worked as an electrical engineer at AVCO, Cincinnati Microwave, Ethicon and Stellar Systems.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Dianne McQuary Scott, his parents Waller Massie Scott Sr. and Mary Owen Goodknight Scott, and his son Michael Thomas Scott (Mary Jane) who passed away in 2012. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Scott Harrison (Kelly), daughter-in-law Mary Jane Scott, his grandchildren Will Scott Harrison, David Michael Harrison, Christopher Michael Harrison, Abigail Dianne Scott, Anthony Michael Scott, his sister Frances Scott Scott, a niece, nephews, several cousins and many dear friends.
Waller loved Jesus and was described as “always having a smile on his face.” He was a member of Sharonville United Methodist Church where he was a member for almost 50 years. He spent countless hours helping with the children’s ministry, designing and building props and scenery for the church's vacation bible school programs over the years. Waller was a ham radio enthusiast and enjoyed working on electronics projects.
Visitation will be Wednesday (8/2) from 5:00-7:00 PM at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069. Funeral service will be Thursday (8/3) at 11:00 AM (with an additional visitation beforehand from 10:00-11:00 AM) at Sharonville United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, OH.
