Walter “Butch” Obermeyer, 73, passed away on December 3rd, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Obermeyer. They shared 54 years of marriage together.
Born in Batavia, Ohio, he was the son of Walter and Evelyn Obermeyer. He served his country in the US Air Force and dedicated 40 years of law enforcement service to the Village of Woodlawn where he retired as the Chief of Police.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Monroe. He enjoyed classic cars and time with family above all else, and he will be remembered for his faithfulness, his duty to family and country, and his love for God.
He is survived by his spouse, Patricia; children Debbie, Denise, and Rob (wife Sherry); his grandchildren, Harold (wife Amanda), Bryan (fiancé Myranda), Payton, and Autumn; and his great grandson, Finn.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 9th from 5pm to 8pm at Hodapp Funeral Home in West Chester, located at 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock at Our Lady of Sorrows in Monroe, Ohio, located at 330 Lebanon Street, Monroe, Ohio 45050. Masks will be required at all services. Walter will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery, Ohio.
