Walter Lewis

Beloved husband of Loretta Lewis (nee Gooch), for 65 years. Loving father of Teresa (Richard) Keith. Cherished grandfather of Deana Ransom and Nikki Sanders. Devoted great-grandfather of Jacob Allen, Mason Hardesty and Nola Ransom. Dear brother of Elena (the late Noah) Crase and the late Edna (Bill) Davis, Elmer Lewis, Rita (Otis) Collins, Delmar Lewis, Herman Lewis and Ray Lewis. Brother-in-law to Dottie Lewis, Glenna Lewis, Louise Lewis, Jay Lewis and Phyllis Wagner. Walter is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Army. As an avid hunter and fisherman, Walter enjoyed all things outdoors. He also enjoyed gardening and is known for his world-famous tomatoes. Walter was also a Deacon at Trinity Baptist for over 40 years. He passed away at home on July 1, 2020 at the age of 88. Visitation will take place at Trinity Baptist Church 8402 Burns Ave., Hartwell, Monday July 6th, from 10AM until Funeral Service at 11AM.
