Wilbur Samuel Wolf was born September 9, 1916 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He passed away April 1, 2016 in his one-hundredth year of life with his family loving him through his last hours. He was married to the late Ruth C. Wolf for 74 years and was simply the best husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Wilbur was the youngest of six children and started working early in life. He and Ruth married, then he joined the Navy and after WWII he bought the first of five restaurants. His last restaurant, Wilbur’s Six Mile House, was his favorite and people came not only for the good food but also to spend time with him. He enjoyed talking and joking with customers and his sweet personality continued on to the end. He retired to Pompano Beach, Florida, traveled, golfed, and enjoyed his family and friends. Eventually he moved back to Cincinnati in 2004. Wilbur spent his last two years as a resident of Covenant Village. His advanced dementia did not stop him from being very popular and adored by other residents and staff. Wilbur was always holding someone’s hand and telling them how much he loved them. He was a treasure. Wilbur is survived by his very grateful family, daughter Carol Wolf (Jan Smith), brother-in-law Ron Allgeier (Cheryl Allgeier), granddaughter Michelle Maurer (Martyn Thomas), grandson Kurt Maurer(Mara Hussong) granddaughter Jill Henry, grandson Chris Henry (Wei Cheng) and great-grandchildren Max and Emma Thomas, Nicholas and Katie Maurer, Rachel Claire Henry, Oliver and Calvin Henry. He will be fiercely missed and will stay in our hearts forever.
