William E. Dillingham passed in peace January 12, 2018 at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Inez. Bill was born on May 4, 1930 in Akron, Ohio. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on December 26, 1950, serving in active duty during the Korean Conflict. Bill was proud for serving his country as a Marine and continued to be an active member of the VFW, American Legion and Knights of Columbus throughout his life. Bill had a successful sheetrock and finishing business in Toms River, NJ for forty years before moving to Cincinnati, OH to live with his youngest daughter. He enjoyed playing golf with his many friends and card games and golf outings with his son in law Greg and his brothers. Bill will be fondly remembered as a proud patriot and US Marine veteran and as a generous soul who was always willing to help a friend or stranger. He is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Dillingham of Toms River, NJ, Judy Bishop (Greg), sister Mary Giffels, five grandchildren, Meghan Hanke (Joseph), Patrick Calligan, Amber Heckler(Steven), April Marshall (Robert), Erin Boice (William) and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Hodapp Funeral Home 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd. Liberty Twp. OH 45044.
