William Franklin Jolly, 81, of Liberty Township passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Betty Jolly (nee Ford). He was the loving father of Diane Perkins, Debi Hess, Lisa Reed, Lori (Jim) Fox and only son Mark (Jennifer) Jolly. He was also Pappaw to 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Harry Franklin Jolly and Emily Francis Applegate. Bill and Betty lived several places across the country but called Butler County their home for the last 45 years. Bill loved to travel with Betty and made sure to visit every state including Alaska and Hawaii. They also enjoyed trips to Canada and Mexico. Bill served his country in the United State Air Force, deployed both stateside and in Europe from 1951-55. Following his military service, he worked throughout his life as a service technician and truck driver. His mechanical skills provided for his family and for his enjoyment. Bill was very active in the Butler County Antique Machinery Club. He actively preserved rare farm equipment and machinery, passing on his interests to his children and grandchildren Visitation at Hodapp Funeral Homes in Liberty Township on Thursday, May 23rd from 4 – 8 PM. A second visitation will be at Mill Creek Christian Church in Mason County, Kentucky on Friday, May 24th from 11am – 12pm with a memorial service immediately following. The burial will follow at the cemetery in Wedonia, Kentucky. Bill never met a stranger and considered many of the friends he met as family. He gave freely of his time and stories.
