KING, William Gary, a long-time resident of Wyoming, Ohio, died February 12th at his home with his wife by his side. He was 77 years old.
Born April 3, 1937 in Findlay, Ohio, Gary was the only child of William and Leta King. In 1959, he graduated from Miami University of Ohio where he was president of the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity. He graduated from the Ohio State University law school in 1963 and joined the law firm of Cohen, Todd, Kite and Spiegel in Cincinnati. In 1986, Gary left the firm to join his longtime client, Frisch's, as in-house counsel. He retired in 2007 to spend time with his family.
Gary enjoyed golf, swimming and of course, tennis--the sport that introduced him to his wife of 38 years, Beth Nettleton King. He met Beth at a tennis round robin in 1975. She won his heart and taught him how to play the sport that they would come to enjoy together for years. He was well known for his love of music and his beautiful singing voice. Together, they made the most of their free time and would travel frequently, whether visiting family in San Francisco or vacationing anywhere there was a warm beach and waves.
Gary is survived by his wife and his three children Katharine (Wells), Karyn King (Mundelius), and Elizabeth (Hager). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Joseph Wells, Rachael Wells, Jennifer Mundelius, Brian Mundelius and Emma Hager. One of his greatest joys this last year was spending time with his first great grandchild, Wesley Wells. Gary enjoyed nearly four decades with the Nettleton Family and is also survived by Beth's siblings, Blythe Pietila and Peter Nettleton, and their children Erik Pietila, Emily Nettleton and Ellen Nettleton.
