William Hall

William “Bill” Hall, 94, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away on February 16, 2023.  He was a loving husband for 65 years to the late Crystal Swafford Hall. He was born in Latonia, KY on January 8, 1929, to Charles and Catherine Eha. Loving father of Kathy (Bruce) Haake, Donna (Ed) Maurath, Bill Hall, Thomas Hall, and Holly (Chris) Williams. He is survived by his brother Louis and preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Robert and Richard and Sisters Dorothy, Virginia and Betty Lou. He also has many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

William graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1947 and worked at the Albee Theater in Cincinnati through his high school years as a night doorman.

He entered the Army in November 1950, training at Ft. Knox, KY and graduating from leadership school. He served in the 7th Infantry Division in Korea with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in August 1952.

After his military service, William started a career with General Electric in Evendale, OH in the production control department where he later met the love of his life, Crystal Swafford and they married in 1955. He attended Xavier University in Cincinnati and graduated in 1964 with a BSBA. William continued his work at G.E. and subsequently became a program manager for two manufacturing plants in Canada and France, making over 200 overseas trips for coordination with the G.E. manufacturing source. He retired after 36 years with G.E. in 1989.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, at Hodapp Funeral Home 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. West Chester, OH 45069 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church 11144 Spinner Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45241. His final resting will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Michael Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
