William Kenneth Hammock (Ken) gained his angel wings the evening of Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at his home in West Chester, Ohio from natural causes. William Kenneth Hammock was born on January 18th, 1934 in London, Ky. He was 89 years old.
His father’s name was Mr. Lewis Hammock and his mother was Mrs. Leafia Hammock from London, Ky. Ken was married to his wife Naomi C. Hammock, whom crossed over in July 2008. Ken’s surviving children are daughter Kathy S. Hammock-Durrett, son Kenneth Edward Hammock (Ed) and wife Theresa, and son James Mathew Hammock (Jim) and wife Becky. He has 3 grandchildren; Kanden Scott Durrett, son of Kathy Hammock-Durrett, Kayla Hammock and Shane Hammock, daughter and son of Ed Hammock. Ken has 2 great grandchildren, Kaydence Durrett, daughter of grandson Kande Durrett. Ezra Hammock son of grandson Shane Hammock. Ken also has 3 surviving sister’s, Mrs. Verda Howard, Miss Rose Wells and Miss Shirley Hammock.
Ken joined the Army on November 9, 1955 and was honorably discharged November 8, 1957. He was employed by the General Motor Company at the age of 19 as an assembly worker. Before retirement he became a test car driver, test driving cars off the assembly line until he fully retired. He also did professional painting and wallpapering for 20 plus years post-retirement from G.M.
Ken loved his family, his wife’s good country cookin’, his church, playing an acoustic guitar, of which he wrote his own songs, and playing Sequence with friends.
He was an amazing gardener, he had the best garden tomato’s, okra, corn and half-runner green beans, etc.
