William John Brown

BROWN, William John, age 80, beloved husband of Patricia Sue Brown, loving father of Karen LaGarde, Laura Spitzig and Douglas Brown, passed away at his home on November 16, 2008. Also survived by son-in-law Timothy Spitzig and grandchildren Stephanie and Brian. Mr. Brown received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Miami University in 1950. He had been a Registered Architect for over 50 years and practiced in 35 states designing institutional, educational and commercial structures with emphasis on the planning of housing and health care facilities. Local projects include the Patricia Corbett Pavilion and Theater, the Uptown Towers mixed use development, additions to the Main Public Library and the 1972 conversion of the Wyoming High School. He was also a Trustee and Deacon at the Presbyterian Church of Wyoming and wrote numerous articles and commentaries for local and national publications including the Urban Scene column in the Cincinnati Business Courier. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine St., Carthage, and funeral service Thursday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Wyoming, 225 Wyoming Ave.
