William (Bill) J. Moore, Jr. died at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 7th, 2023 after a long illness. He was 75 years old.
Bill was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 2nd, 1948. He grew up in Akron, Ohio as the second of five children of Dr. William J. and Jane Moore. He enjoyed sports from the beginning, especially baseball and wrestling, and graduated from Firestone High School in 1966. He continued on to Ohio University, earning a B.S. in Industrial Technology in 1971.
He spent almost his entire adult life in Cincinnati, Ohio. He met and married Beth Klekamp and they raised three children together.
As a dad, Bill enjoyed being part of his children’s sports activities; Adam’s baseball, Katie’s soccer, and Sara’s cross country and lacrosse, but he especially enjoyed his favorite sport, golf. He was an avid golfer who would want you to know that he once had a hole-in-one.
The majority of his career was with Omron Electronics, Inc. working as a sales engineer and retiring from Omron as a regional manager in 2006.
After retirement he continued to enjoy golf and his children. A great joy in his life occurred during COVID-19 when his granddaughter Scarlett and daughter Katie came to live with him. He removed all the furniture in his living room and turned it into Scarlett’s special playroom. He loved Katie and Scarlett’s two dogs so much he got a huskie of his own. He and Beth continued to care for one another and celebrate special occasions as a family.
His friends and family will remember him especially for his sense of humor and his ability to tell a great story. His siblings will remember his ability to recount in embarrassing detail all their foibles.
He will be sorely missed. He is survived by Beth Moore, his former wife, his three children and their spouses, Adam (Anna) Moore, Katie Moore, Sara (Eric) Yager, his grandchildren Elijah, Scarlett, Colton, and Boden and by his siblings, Ginny Ingram, Bob Moore, Sue Hauenstein, and Doug Moore.
There will be a celebration of his life Friday June 16th, 2023 9am-11am
