William Walter Marsh, Sr. “Bill”

January 18, 1934 — January 19, 2022

William Walter Marsh, Sr. “Bill”, born January 18, 1934 in Chicago IL, passed away at the age of 88 on January 19, 2022 in Cincinnati OH.

Bill worked in the financial services business for over 50 years, representing Lincoln National Life and Pension, as well as many other companies.  He treated clients like friends and loved the work he did.  He enjoyed running his own practice under Marsh & Associates and bringing honesty and integrity to the business.  He never formally retired.

He worked to provide for others and loved doing just that.  He beamed when he took his grandkids to Disney World and loved to see their faces on Christmas morning!  As he traveled all over the world, he would bring back presents for the grandkids.  You would see him at every event one of the kids or grandkids had, whether sports or theater, bad weather or good, he was there to participate in their lives!  He loved to entertain and enjoyed friends and family.  We lift a glass to toast his memory!

Married over 65 years to Shirley Mae Marsh (May 5, 1956) keeping their vow ‘til death do us part.  Born of Mary Louise Braunkamp and Frank William Marsh he survived his Sister, Jan Kimberlain (and Don) and life-long friends, Jerry and Maryetta Wiesenhahn.  He is survived by his three sons, Skip, Michael and Jeff, their wives, Caryn, Sarah and Julie; his nine grandchildren, Scott, Josh (and Nikki), Christina, Anthony (and Juliet), Benjamin, Jacob, Nicholas, Emily (and Wes) and Jessica; his eight great-grandchildren, Aliya, Joshua, Abram, Moa, Devyn, Rhiley, Cassius and Drake.

He is also survived by brother-in-laws, Carl Murphy (and Imogene), Johnny Murphy, Don Murphy (and Mary); daughter-in-law Elaine Smith and countless cousins, nieces and nephews, great as well as great-great nieces and nephews.  He loved them all.

He will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery next to his wife Shirley.
