Zetta Mae Herrin was born on September 8, 1938 to Elmer Green & Alta Ethel (Larkins) Herrin in Crab Orchard, Kentucky. Zetta moved to Ohio, as a young child, with her family and grew up in Blue Ash, attending the Blue Ash Church of Christ, and graduating from Sycamore High School in 1956. Zetta married Richard Lee Cox on November 3, 1956, and they moved to Lockland, Ohio. In 1963, Zetta & Rick became parents to Peggy Lee Cox. In 1969, Zetta, Rick & Peggy moved to Morrow, Ohio. In 1973, Zetta & Rick became parents for a second time to Gregory Lee Cox. Zetta & Richard were able to be present for the marriage of Peggy to Matt Allwardt in December 1985 and also witness the birth of their 2 grandchildren, Andrew Martin Allwardt (Drew) in November 1990 and Bradley James Allwardt (Brad) in September 1994.

Zetta worked for General Electric Evendale from 1956 until she retired on December 22, 1995 (same day as Richard passed away). Zetta and Greg built a home in Mason and moved into it in 1996. After many years of friendship (childhood friends) and dating, Zetta married Lawrence Dale Jackson on August 15, 2014.

Zetta had lung cancer that was found in 2013 and she underwent removal of her left lower lung in June 2013. The cancer was found again in 2015 in both lungs, spine and hip. Zetta underwent both chemotherapy and radiation therapy over the last several months of her life. Zetta was hospitalized on Friday, May 20, 2016 with a high fever and diagnosed with pneumonitis (lung inflammation) caused by the chemotherapy drug she had on that same day. Zetta fought a valiant fight but was unable to maintain her oxygen levels on her own and she passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on Tuesday, May 31 at just after 2 pm.
